PHOSPHOR STUDIES

Several explorations into the screen: getting into the details of the image mosaic.

Since 2008 my photographic practice has revolved around investigating obsolete video technologies. I am drawn to the strangeness of the screen as an object, and as a carrier of information.

Some of these Phosphor Studies photographs have been exhibited, others used as artwork for electronic musicians - others are purely the result of my own curiosity.

“A BEAM OF ELECTRONS  ACCELERATED INSIDE A VACUUM BY ELECTROMAGNETIC DEFLECTION, HITTING AND ILLUMINATING PHOSPHOR PARTICLES IN A TRIANGULAR PATTERN BEHIND TWO INCHES OF GLASS”

The longest title of any of my projects, the work consists of  broken and interrupted television images
